He studied at the Los Andes University in Bogotá, receiving his bachelor for piano with Antonio Carbonell in 2008 and in composition with Catalina Peralta in
2010. He obtained the academic degree in pedagogy in 2010 at the same University.
He has completed a Masters in film music in 2014 with Prof. Cornelius Schwehr and in composition in 2015 with Prof. Brice Pauset at the Hochschule für Musik
Freiburg. In 2017 he obtained the concert exam in composition also with Prof. Schwehr.
He has also attended courses with Luis Bavalov, Mathias Steinauer, Vladimir Tarnopolnsky and Carola Bauckholt, and the International Summer Course in Darmstadt
In 2013 he was the recipient of a fellowship from the Fundación Mazda para el Arte y la Ciencia in Colombia. Furthermore he
awarded prizes like DAAD for outstanding results in 2014 at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg and Baden-Württemberg Arts Foundation prize 2016. He was in 2018 composer in residence at Wiepersdorf
His musical versatility allows him to participate in various projects and to compose very different pieces for solo
instruments, chamber music, brass band, wind orchestra and orchestra.
